About Me
Hi! I am an intervention specialist from Ohio. I have taught students with multiple disabilities for 14 years. I have a passion for incorporating technology within the classroom ~ whether that be assistive technology specifically adapted for students with special needs or figuring out a way to modify mainstream technologies to use with the students.
Within the past few years, I have been involved with integrating iPad use within classroom. I have presented at several local workshops on using an iPad with students with special needs and well as a statewide technology conference. I also developed and presented an introduction to using a SMART Board within the classroom and using the SMART Board with students with special needs. I am currently a graduate student at Michigan State University studying Educational Technology.
I am a mother to two wonderful children ages 7 and 5. They have made me realize the importance of raising digitally responsible citizens as well as the importance of authentic learning experiences. My husband could not be more supportive on my life long learning journey. I have even converted him into a "techie' who has been participating in online tutorials on coding. Although I am a soon-to-be Michigan State University graduate, our family are HUGE Cincinnati sports fans (as evidenced by the picture). Go Bearcats! Go Reds!
I am a firm believer in sharing and collaborating as a way to bring about changes in education that will directly impact the students. If our job as educators is to prepare the students to be life long learners, it is our duty to live up to those expectations as well.
